About the Presenter:

Tijana Mirović

Dr. Tijana Mirović a PhD in clinical psychology and is advanced level schema therapist and supervisor (ISST), Systemic Family therapist and Rational Emotive Behavioral therapist (Associate Fellow of Albert Ellis Institute). She was an Associate professor at the University and is now running a counseling center and an accredited schema therapy training program in Belgrade, Serbia. She did her Master’s and PhD thesis in Schema therapy and has published a number of papers on societal trauma, Early Maladaptive Schemas and their relation to family functioning, attachment and various symptoms. Additionally, she has made numerous presentations on Schema therapy throughout former Yugoslavia and has published a first book on Schema therapy in Serbian language. This created an interest in Schema therapy and led to the opening of Schema Therapy Center Belgrade –the first accredited schema therapy training center in the region. Since then and within this training center, dr Mirovichas been conducting schema therapy training and supervision in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia. Working with clients and supervisees from Former Yugoslavia gave dr Mirovic a chance to understand and experience the challenges of living and working in warstruckand post war communities.Since then she has initiated a numberof trauma related(preventive) actions aimed at helping members of the community and professionals to deal with war / postwar related issues. She has edited and published “Trauma –our story”, a book on various shared traumas and the way different psychotherapy approaches treat them
