Having a deep personal commitment to the glorious reality marriage can be, propels me to examine and re-examine my skills, obtain wise consult, and personally live a philosophy of never give up on what is holy, good and wise. I work with with both individuals and couples, married and not, to make happy lives full of love and meaning. I believe persons are gifts to each other, and we need to treat each other as precious and also fragile. I delight in teaching and modeling how to connect, to cope in Healthy Adult ways based on timeless models of virtuous human beings, ways which bring peace and healing to others as well as their own inner selves. For me, when I serve you, whether you are a client or a fellow therapist, I do so with all my heart and soul, and consider it a great privilege. I love when people get happy and I played a small role in that; I love when they kiss going out my door, and I love when I can pass on a few of the gifts I have received to other therapists, helping them feel and be effective in healing others. I am available directly for clients, for client referrals, and for Therapist Educational Consultation leading to certification. I have taught "Connect-Talk®"since 1974 which is the basis of Need-based sharing as the antidote to early maladaptive schemas. Need-Talk and Connect-Talk® have been my focus of special study and development/practical application. Schema Therapy with Couples, A Practitioner's Guide to Healing Relationships.
I founded the Schema Therapy for Couples ISST Workgroup in 2010, co-developed the certification standards as the chair of the Couples leadership Committee and liaison to the ISST board's training committee. I have been instrumental in the formation of the ST-C training modules and the facilitation of our members in the application process. Passing this SIG to new leadership, I went on to develop the new significant interest group: Schema Therapy - Organizational Development, where I train the participants in Connect-Talk® as applied to our professional multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-national openness and acceptance that allows us to connect with individual differences of perspective and opinion.
