DUTIES OF THE TRAINING CO-ORDINATOR

Responsibilities include:

In general, and in communication with the Coordinator of Certification, this position encompasses the maintenance, development and modification of all ISST guidelines and protocols related to training, supervision, and the development of  clinical competence in schema therapy. In addition, Chair the committee that proposes the content of ISST sponsored training events (the biannual Summer School and the training workshops of the biannual conference)

Specific Tasks

Liaison with all Training Directors throughout the world

Maintain an active Training Committee

Appoint members of the Training Committee with Executive Board (EB) approval

Hold meetings with the Training Committee as needed

Review the curriculum for training programs with related committees and as needed propose changes to the TCAB for feedback and the EB for approval.

Review applications for training and treatment programs and approve them following the requirements established by the EB

Work with local organizers as the EB liaison for the ISST Summer School. Chair the selection committee, which will invite and review proposals for this training event.

Chair the Training committee that reviews biannual conference applications in the area of training and the preconference training workshops.

Coordinate issues related to training that overlap with certification with the Director of Certification

Chair the Supervisor-Trainer-Skills Committee. Conduct or oversee the delivery of the basic supervisor-­‐trainer webinar every 6 -9 months as needed. Maintain the slides and reference material for this webinar.

Liaise with the Quality Assurance Committee to develop a plan for evaluating ST Training Programs. This will include graduates evaluations. Evaluate the effectiveness of the current option for meeting the training requirement for certification via independent study.

Oversee the QA Committee’s monitoring of the continuing education requirement for all certified Trainer-Supervisors and the requirement that certified trainer-supervisors submit evidence of 4.0 or higher ratings on a training given biannually. Propose a similar evaluation process for supervisors that is either part of the evaluation of training programs or for independent supervisors.

Take proposals on QA issues to the EB for approval.

General Tasks

Attend monthly Executive Board meetings and actively participate in EB functions.

Answer Questions of (candidate) members about training.

Maintain contact with supervisors and trainers in all countries regarding training issues and their particular needs.

Oversee the various training related committees and take their proposals to the EB

Oversee the procedure for listing training events on the ISST website.
