My specialty areas include personality disorders (Narcissism & Borderline PD);adults recovering from narcissistic parental abuse; adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse; couples therapy/schema relationship dynamics (especially with NPD & BPD partners); complicated grief & "treatment-resistant" & recurrent depression. I've been in private practice since 2001 and registered as a psychologist since 1995. My interest in experiential psychotherapies early in my career, led me to schema therapy and I have been using it in practice since 2005. I combine schema therapy with mindfulness and incorporate Buddhist philosophy into my practice where possible. I have a background in academia and research (including 11 years in a tertiary referral depression unit with over 30 academic publications in the field of mood disorders). I've also been providing professional workshops for therapists since 2005 on topics including treating survivors of CSA; depression and personality issues. In my clinical practice I see complex cases (especially those clients previously labels as 'treatment resistant' or with intractable depressive disorders. I also provide supervision with a focus on therapist self-awareness, reflective practice and therapist schemas.
