About
I am a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, trainer/supervisor in Schema Therapy, director of the Italian Academy for Schema Therapy (IAST), and lecturer at the Schools for Cognitive Psychotherapy (SPC) in Italy. I was trained as a Schema Therapy Trainer and Supervisor in New York / New Jersey with Jeffrey Young & Wendy Behary.
I have a PhD in Neuropsychology and am fond of research!

I have my clinical practice in Rome (Italy), but also practice online therapy and supervisions. I teach psychologists and psychotherapist about ST and CBT, and regularly give ISST certificated training all over the country (https://apc.it/servizi-clinici/cbt-terza-ondata/schema-therapy/iast-schema-therapy-english-version/). Beyond ISST trainings, I also give lectures on specific topics related to ST and CBT (ST in Eating Disorders, Chair-work, the role of Guilt and other negative emotions in psychopathology, Imagery techniques, etc.).

I collaborate with Italian Universities and public health institutions, with the aim of promoting Schema Therapy within various training settings across Italy. Internationally, I collaborate with the Dutch Institute for ST in The Netherlands (https://instituutschematherapie.nl/docent/654/)

I regularly attend the ISST Environmental Awareness & Action Group (EAA). Our aim is to develop insightful thinking and practical solutions that could bring ecological connectedness into the work of individual Schema therapists and the ISST organization itself.

Before moving to Rome, in 2005, I collaborated with the Department of Social Psychology at the Vrije University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and the Department of Developmental, Personality and Social Psychology, at Ghent University (Belgium).
I spend more than ten years working at the Neuroimaging Laboratory at Santa Lucia Foundation, in Rome (Italy).

My main research interests include OCD, Depression, Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, emotional and cognitive processes, Dementia and Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), using specific neuroimaging techniques, such as fMRI and Resting-state fMRI. I actively and passionately take part in clinical and scientific debates, yearly participating at national and international conferences.
