Marriott @ Central Park in Manhattan

Facilitated by Travis Atkinson and Poul Perris

The Schema Therapy Training Center of New York (STTCNY) invites you to apply for our 2018 International Training and Certification Program in Schema Couples Therapy, an approved training program of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). We offer a broad spectrum of training opportunities in Schema Couples Therapy, with several options that lead to certification as a Schema Couples Therapist.

Join couples therapists from around the world to train in Schema Couples Therapy, and master our proven techniques and interventions in your work with couples. Completion of the workshops along with meeting additional requirements qualifies attendees to become certified as a Schema Couples Therapist, and to enjoy the many benefits certifications offers.

Take your couples training to new heights: new venue in the tallest hotel in the United States

Due to increased enrollment, we changed the venue of April's Schema Couples Therapy Training Program so that we now have a few more spots available. If you apply now, you can still have the opportunity to attend the training program to fulfill all of the workshop requirements to become a Certified Schema Couples Therapist. This is the only program offering all workshop hours in one setting, in a city that offers more attractions than almost any other on our planet.

The training will now be located at the Marriott @ Central Park, with stunning views of Central Park and the city. If you act now, nice hotel rooms in the area can be reserved for as low as $114 per night, an almost unheard of rate for Manhattan, and rooms in the Marriott start at only $158 per night. The hotel is at 1717 Broadway @ 54th Street, steps away from Central Park, and a few blocks from all the Broadway shows you've been wanting to see.

If you plan your stay with a few extra days, you can visit One World Trade Center’s fabulous Observation Deck in Lower Manhattan, and see 360 degrees of vibrance. Visit France’s gift to the United States, the universal symbol of freedom and democracy we know as the Statue of Liberty, then tour Ellis Island, the entryway for immigrants coming to America in the 1800s.

Discover unique shopping in the cast-iron architecture shops of SoHo, then take a subway ride to Chelsea to walk the High Line, a work-of-art botanical garden on top of a bridge to nowhere, followed by art gallery-hopping in Chelsea. Take a stroll in the literal and spiritual center of Manhattan, Central Park, then stop in at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the largest museum in the Western Hemisphere and a mecca for art lovers, for lunch on the rooftop garden.

So much more awaits you in the Big Apple. And don’t forget to follow your trend-spotting gaze to Brooklyn and Queens, all accessible with an unlimited-ride MetroCard.

Community: join schema therapists from around the world, and master proven techniques and interventions to help your work with couples, and the individuals you work with in schema therapy. Activities will be planned for participants, including the option of attending a Broadway show on Wednesday evening together.

Who Should Apply? All licensed psychotherapists are welcome to apply. You don't need to have prior couples therapy experience, or even to work with couples: we'll show you how to use schema couples therapy techniques to enhance your work with individuals in schema therapy. The program will be especially helpful if you're interested in advancing your work with couples, and if you plan to develop your own training program in the future.

With the new venue, only a few spots are available for April's program. Apply now, and beat the price increases for the following program. If you reserve soon, you can still likely find reasonable airfares to New York City, and take in all that the Big Apple has to offer as you shed your winter layers and gear up to catch Spring fever, during the best time to visit NYC.

The trainers, Poul Perris and Travis Atkinson, will guide you through all Five Modules of the Schema Couples Therapy Curriculum, and help you break down the model in couples work to make the complex seem clear, and the chaotic feel orderly.

Complete all workshop requirements in one setting during our 4-day course, taught by Travis Atkinson & Poul Perris, two Certified Advanced Schema Couples Therapist Trainers, offered in New York City.
