Joint message from the Training and Certification Coordinators: Jeff Conway and Paul Kasyanik

Dear ISST Colleagues,

In this unprecedented and highly stressful situation created by the coronavirus pandemic, we are committed to support the Schema Therapy Community in Practice and Training.  In view of the urgent imperative for Social Distancing, we have made an exceptional decision to institute a temporary policy of allowing trainers to provide any kind of Schema Therapy training or workshops, including Certification training and CPD (continuing professional development).

In order to ensure that the quality of such training is maintained, we have set out strict requirements that such trainings must meet.  The details are in the document, ISST Policy on the Provision on Schema Therapy Training Online During the Coronavirus Pandemic.  Trainers who wish to take advantage of this will need to complete an application form and submit it to the Training Coordinator.

This temporary policy is in effect from now until August 31st, 2020.  At the end of August, we will assess the world-wide health situation and will then decide whether to discontinue or extend this temporary policy.

We believe that the best quality of training is in-person training.  But due to this extraordinary world-wide crisis, we want to encourage and support the continuance Schema Therapy training.  When this crisis is over, we expect that we will return to our usual requirements because of the important value of in-person training.

We wish all the members of the ISST good health and hope you will all take the necessary precautions to keep yourself and your patients safe during this very challenging time.
